DDP (Delivered Duty Paid)

DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid and is one of the seven Incoterm rules for any mode of transport.

Under DDP terms the seller bears all costs and risks up to the point the goods are received by the buyer. The seller is obligated to arrange carriage and delivering the goods at the named place, cleared for import and all applicable taxes and duties paid. When goods are made available to the buyer and ready for unloading from the arriving means of transport, risk transfers from seller to buyer.

DDP provides protection for the buyer and ensures that cargo will be delivered in the best condition (especially important when high value items are being transported).
