LCL (Less than Container Load)

LCL, meaning Less than Container Load, describes a situation in which the shipper uses only a part of a container and not the entire container, to ship goods.

LCL container is a consolidation of multiple shippers and cargoes that fills the entire space within a container.

If the shipper's cargo is not enough to fill up a container by itself, or if he doesn't want to wait until he has enough cargo to utilize a full container—he can transport his goods in an LCL Container. The LCL container consolidates other shippers and cargo into a single container.
